This is my story…

I was born on the Tweed River and grew up in Murwillumbah, Northern New South Wales. I discovered the love of fictional characters at an early age and grew up believing that fairies, goblins, dwarfs and other mystical creatures were real.

As a child I crossed the boundaries of normality by inventing characters and unusual creatures to be my playmates. I even had a unicorn I named Snowfire. I rode that horse around my parent’s front yard until I dropped in utter exhaustion.

Obviously my childhood was a lonely one from a friendship point of view. But in projecting my imagination into the realm of everyday life I allowed my mind to invent strange and vivid creatures, which to this day seem almost real. Do I think I’m a little peculiar? No, I think I’m one of the lucky ones whose mind can take them anywhere.

What did my parents think of all this? Well to be honest I think they understood and loved me for my free-spirited imagination. They never once rebuked me for talking to myself or playing games no one else understood.

As you grow older unfortunately the realisation of what is “acceptable” and “normal” is driven home by the people you meet and the circumstances surrounding your life. And I was no different. In finishing school and starting a career my fantasy friends unfortunately disappeared from my conscious thoughts.

I married very young, but I see that as a bonus, for with the birth of my children resurfaced the characters and creatures of my childhood. Maybe we need to have the child in us resurface in order for our imaginations to remain alive and invigorated.

Each night I would pick up a book, but the stories I told to my children were not recited from the words written on the pages, the tales came from the experiences I had had as a child in my parent’s front yard. My children looked forward each night to bedtime, the adventure continued night after night and bedtime became a world of magical intrigue. It was a race to see who was first in bed.

Unfortunately children grow up, and mine were no different; and soon the bedtime stories were forgotten.

As the years progressed and I reinvented myself through the world of tertiary study I realised I still had the world of my imagination to explore. In 1995 I had a phenomenal dream, one which took me back to my world of fantasy. I remember the occasion with animated accuracy. I woke at midnight and grabbing my pen and trusty diary I wrote down the plot. It was not the complete outline; just a rough sketch but it included the main characters names and the worlds of The Immortals.

For several years I thought of the world that lay secreted away in my diary and every now and then I would write a few more lines, taking the story a little further. Life is busy when you have a career, husband and family and so little progress was made to expand the worlds of the Immortals as the years went by. I guess when you are so passionate about something that it will not leave your subconscious then you know you are destined to follow it through and so it was with The Immortals. I found that the storyline was occupying my mind more and more until I got to a point where I could think of nothing else except putting finger to keyboard to complete what I had started.

Now in 2007 the first of my novels is complete and book two is well underway. It is literally a dream come true and I can’t wait for you, my readers, to take this journey with me.  I have so many more works ready to be penned!

Since starting The Immortals I have worked on several other storylines, which are equally as enticing. I can’t wait to share them with you.

Please if you wish to ask me questions I am more than willing to reply. Email me at

I hope you enjoy the worlds of The Immortals.
